DESCRIPTION:As you might know\, we are celebrating a huge victory in the US House of Representatives with the passage of the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act of 2017. The bill passed the House by a vote of 382-0 and now heads to the Senate for consideration. Congresswoman Esty\, who serves on the Committee of Veterans Affairs and is the Ranking Member on the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs subcommittee\, is also a cosponsor of the legislation. \nWe are having an event in Danbury to update the community and the press on this issue. We would love it if you could join us on Monday\, July 9 at 1:30 as she discusses the bill and has Q & A. We will be available for an hour- maybe many people are busy with summer plans and trips but this legislation is so important that we just can’t let it go uncelebrated\, and there is still work to be done- passage in the Senate. \nPlease join us at the Danbury War Memorial’s second floor conference room at 1 Memorial Drive\, across the street from the CVS.
